Addiction destroys a person physically as well as psychologically. Even though it is written on every intoxicating item about the adverse effects of taking that intoxicating item, people still consume it. We may think why people do not think of their own wellbeing. They realize only when family members addicted to alcohol, gutkha or beedi suffer from fatal diseases like cancer. These types of fatalities are constantly in front of our eyes. But we assume that nothing is going to happen to us, but when it happens, it’s out of our hands. Not only that, but children in the family adopt those habits after constantly witnessing intoxicated person in family. We have seen many such instances.

Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation, along with conducting education activities, works to educate children about the dangers of addiction. If any school conducts such awareness programs, it actively participates in those programs.

A rally organized by students and Teachers

Recently a de-addiction program was conducted at Nanabaval School in Khedbrahma. 250 children participated. A drama was played about the disadvantages of addiction. Children’s parents, village elders, youth were also especially present in the program. At the end of the program, a rally was also organized in the village with the slogans of devastation caused by addiction. The principal of the school and other teaching staff organized the event very well. Children also swore that they will stay away from addiction. Rahulbhai and Pratikbhai from the foundation specially joined the program. Dr. Anjanabhen also provided guidance about addiction.

At the end of the program, the symbolic burning of the addictive demon was also done. A small gift was also given by the foundation to the children who attended the program for their awareness.

ક્યારેક થાય માણસ કેમ પોતાનું હીત નથી વિચારતો. કુટુંબના મોભી દારૃ, ગુટખા કે બીડીનું વ્યસન કરે ને કેન્સર જેવા જીવલેણ રોગનો ભોગ બને ત્યારે આત્મભાન થાય. પણ આ બાબતો સતત નજર સામે હતી જ. પણ આપણને કશું થવાનું નથી એવું આપણે માની લઈએ ને જ્યારે થાય ત્યારે આપણા હાથમાં કશું હોતુ નથી.

વળી નશો કરનાર વ્યક્તિને જોઈને ઘરમાં બાળકો પણ એ ચીજો શીખે. આવા અનેક દાખલા આપણે જોયા છે. ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન બાળકોને અત્યારથી વ્યસનના ખતરા વિષેની જાગૃત કરવાનું કાર્ય તેમને ભણાવવાની સાથે કરે. જો કોઈ શાળા આવા જાગૃતિના કાર્યક્રમો કરે તો તેમાં પણ પોતાની ભાગીદારી નોંધાવે.

તાજેતરમાં ખેડબ્રહ્માની નાનાબાવળ શાળામાં વ્યસન મુક્તિનો કાર્યક્રમ આયોજીત કર્યો. જેમાં 250 બાળકો જોડાયા. વ્યસનથી થતા ગેરફાયદા વિષે નાટક ભજવવામાં આવ્યું. કાર્યક્રમમાં બાળકોના વાલીઓ, ગામના વડીલો, યુવાનો પણ ખાસ હાજર રહ્યા. કાર્યક્રમના અંતે ગામમાં વ્યસનથી થતી બરબાદીના સૂત્રોચાર સાથે રેલીનું પણ આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું. શાળાના આચાર્ય તેમજ અન્ય શિક્ષણગણે ખુબ સુંદર આયોજન કર્યું હતું. બાળકોએ અમે વ્યસન નહીં કરીયેના શપથ પણ લીધા. ફાઉન્ડેશનમાંથી રાહુલભાઈ તેમજ પ્રતિકભાઈ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ જોડાયા. સાથે ડો. અંજનાબહેને પણ વ્યસન સંદર્ભે માર્ગદર્શન આપ્યું. કાર્યક્રમના અંતે વ્યસનરૃપી રાક્ષસનું પ્રતિકાત્મક દહન પણ કરવામાં આવ્યું. જે બાળકો આ કાર્યક્રમમાં હાજર રહ્યા તેમને નાનકડી ભેટ પણ તેમની જાગૃતતા સંદર્ભે ફાઉન્ડેશન દ્વારા આપવામાં આવી.

Suresh was studying in 6th standard when his father passed away. He is the eldest of the two children of his parents. The financial condition of the family is weak. The family earns a living by doing whatever farm labor is available. Suresh is very clever in studies. But after his father’s death, it was doubtful whether his mother would be able to raise him single-handedly. There were also small talks of giving up studying and taking up running the house to help his mother.

Suresh was going to study in the primary school of the village. There was lack of teachers in this school. Dr. K.R. Sroff Foundation filled in those vacancies. Suresh’s condition came to the notice of the institute teacher. He feared that Suresh would drop out of the school. Finally, he talked to the workers of the organization to do something concrete in this matter and together they explained the situation to Suresh’s mother. Government conducts NMNS exam to meet the cost of education. If a student clears this exam, he gets scholarship of 1000 per month till 12th standard. The teachers of the institute helped Suresh to pass the exam and he cleared it. Getting 1000 rupees monthly strengthened Suresh’s willpower.

With the constant warmth of the workers of the organization, Suresh reached 12th standard. His desire was to become a doctor. In 12th exam he secured good percentage. Suresh’s mother and other family members asked him to study whatever it takes to get a government job after graduation. But Suresh’s desire was to go into medical faculty. Finally, the workers of the organization had to come back in the picture. They convinced Suresh’s family and brought him to Ahmedabad to prepare for NEET. He was admitted in the coaching class. Suresh cleared the NEET exam with good marks and got admission in Government Medical College of Himmatnagar.

After getting admission in medical college, the amount required for his food and other expenses which his mother could not provide is 3000 per month. The organization bears that expense to support him. Suresh never thought that his dream would come true. Besides, those persons helped him who had no obligation and responsibility to Suresh. He feels very happy and obligated for this help. He promises he will fulfill his social obligations after completing studies. He has reaped these rich cultural values through the organization that helped him. We wish Suresh a lot of success…

KRSF ફાઉન્ડેશનના સહયોગથી એક છોકરાનું મેડિકલ કરવાનું સપનું થયું સાકાર

સુરેશ છઠ્ઠા ધોરણમાં ભણતો હતો જ્યારે એના પિતા ગુજરી ગયા. માતા પિતાના બે સંતાનોમાં એ મોટો. પરિવારની આર્થિક સ્થિતિ નબળી. ખેતમજૂરી કે જે મળે તે છુટક મજૂરી કરીને પરિવાર પેટિયું રળે. સુરેશ ભણવામાં ખુબ હોંશિયાર. પણ પિતાની છત્રછાયા ગુમાવ્યા પછી મા એને એકલા હાથે મોટો કરી શકશે કે કેમ તે અંગે શંકાઓ પણ થઈ. ક્યાંક તો ભણવાનું છોડાવી એ પણ માની મદદમાં ઘર ચલાવવામાં લાગી જાય એવી વાતો પણ થઈ.

સુરેશ ગામની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં ભણવા જાય. આ શાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ. આ ઘટની પૂર્તી ડો.કે.આર. ક્ષોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન દ્વારા કરવામાં આવેલી. સંસ્થાના શિક્ષકના ધ્યાને સુરેશની સ્થિતિ આવી. ભણવાનું છોડી દેશેની દેહશત વિશે પણ ખ્યાલ આવ્યો. આખરે સંસ્થાના કાર્યકર્તાઓ સાથે એમણે આ બાબતે નક્કર કશુંક કરવાની વાત કરી ને સૌએ મળીને સુરેશની માતાને સમજાવી. ભણવાના ખર્ચને પહોંચી વળવા સરકારની NMNS પરીક્ષા આવે. આ પરિક્ષા વિદ્યાર્થી પાસ કરે તો દર મહિને તેને 12માં ધોરણ સુધી 1000 મળે. સુરેશને આ પરિક્ષા પાસ કરાવવામાં સંસ્થાના શિક્ષકોએ મદદ કરી અને એણે પરીક્ષા પાસ કરી. 1000 રૃપિયા માસીક મળવાથી સુરેશને બળ મળ્યું. સંસ્થાના કાર્યકરોની સતત હૂંફથી સુરેશ ધો. 12 સુધી પહોંચ્યો. એની ઈચ્છા ડોક્ટર થવાની. બારમાં ધોરણમાં ટકા પણ સરસ આવ્યા. સુરેશની મા અને અન્ય પરિવારજનોએ એને સ્નાતક થઈ સરકારી નોકરી મેળવવા જે ભણવું પડે તે ભણવા કહ્યું. પણ સુરેશનું મન મેડીકલમાં જવાનું. આખરે સંસ્થાના કાર્યકરો ફરી મેદાને આવ્યા. એમણે સુરેશના પરિવારને સમજાવ્યો અને નીટની તૈયારી માટે એને અમદાવાદ લઈ આવ્યા. કોચીંગ ક્લાસમાં એને દાખલ કરાવ્યો. નીટની પરીક્ષા સુરેશે સારા માર્કસ સાથે પાસ કરી એને સરકારી મેડીકલ કોલેજ – હિંમતનગરમાં પ્રવેશ મળ્યો.

મેડીકલ કોલેજમાં પ્રવેશ મળ્યા પછી એના ભોજન તેમજ અન્ય ખર્ચ માટે જરૃરી રકમ જે તેની માતા આપી શકે નહીં એ રકમ માસીક 3000 જેટલી થાય. જે સંસ્થા આપે. જેથી સુરેશને ટેકો રહે. સુરેશે ક્યારેય વિચાર્યું નહોતું કે એનું આ સ્વપ્ન સાકાર થશે. વળી એવા વ્યક્તિઓએ એને મદદ કરી જેમની કોઈ ફરજ સુરેશ માટે નહોતી. એ આ વાતથી ઘણો રાજી. પોતે પણ ભણીને સમાજઉપયોગી કાર્યોમાં પોતાનાથી થતું કરશે. આ સંસ્કાર એના ઘડતરમાં મદદ કરનાર સંસ્થા થકી એનામાં આવ્યા…
સુરેશ ખુબ સફળ થાય તેવી શુભભાવના…

Two kids studying in her class remain very quiet and silent. Seeing such behavior of kids, teacher Bhavnaben got curiously interested. Both were little weak at studies. At first she thought that they were not talking because of lack of confidence. Then she realized that they were scared of the teacher! Scared of a teacher? That is not acceptable. Really speaking, teacher reads the child’s mind and shapes it.

Discipline is insisted on, but it is not worth if the child is afraid! In the primary school of Ghoghasamdi gam in Gadhada taluka of Botad, our teacher Bhavnaben, placed by KRSF to fill the shortage of teachers, decided to encourage the children to talk, laugh and especially have fun in the class. She started going to Kiran and Nikul’s homes to cultivate homely relationship.

Since she is from the same village, before going to school, she often went to homes of both these kids and took them with her to school. This routine gradually destroyed children’s fear.

KRSF selects educated but unemployed people living in villages as teachers and places them where there is shortage of teachers in government schools. Currently we have placed more than 650 teachers in various government schools. They teach more than 50,000 students. We first train these chosen teachers and guide them more about the importance of child education. Through our training, teachers understand and grasp their mission and devoted themselves to play an important role in the development of children in their school.

Bhavnaben saw some weak students in her class. She did an experiment to make these students more interested in learning. She started asking these weaker students to seat next to the smarter ones in the class. This improved performance of the weaker students. The children who used to be quiet and weak in learning did not like to come to school, but with the efforts of Bhavnaben, today these children love to go to school. It was a minor change but paying attention to it, resulted in a great job done.

Other teachers and principal of Ghoghasamdi primary school are also enthusiastic. They are equally alert for the better future of children. With the efforts of the organization and the government, excellent work is being done in Ghoghasamdi primary school.

The vision of our founder Pratulbhai Shroff is to be instrumental in imparting excellent education to more than one million children. The whole team of KRSF is committed to make this spirit come true.

પોતાના વર્ગમાં ભણતા બે બાળકો એકદમ ગુમસુમ બેસી રહે. શિક્ષીકા ભાવનાબહેનને બાળકોનું આવું વર્તન જોઈને એમનામાં રસ પડ્યો. ભણવામાં આ બેય ઠીક ઠીક. કદાચ આત્મવિશ્વાસ નહોવાના લીધે વાત નહીં કરતા હોય એવું એમને પ્રથમ લાગ્યું પછી ખ્યાલ આવ્યો કે એમને શિક્ષકની બીક લાગે.

શિક્ષકની બીક? શિક્ષક તો બાળકનું મન વાંચે એને ઘડે. શિસ્તનો આગ્રહ રાખે પણ એનાથી બાળકને ભય ઉપજે એ તો કેવી રીતે ચાલે? બોટાદના ગઢડા તાલુકાના ઘોઘાસમડી ગામની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં KRSF દ્વારા શિક્ષકોની ઘટ પૂર્તી માટે મુકેલા અમારા ભાવનાબહેને બાળકોને વર્ગમાં બોલતા, હસતા ને ખાસ તો મસ્તી કરતા કરવાનુ નક્કી કર્યું. એમણે કિરણ અને નિકુલની સાથે ઘરોબો કેળવવા એમના ઘરે જવાનું શરુ કર્યું. પોતે ગામના જ એટલે ઘણી વખત નિશાળ જતા પહેલાં આ બેયના ઘરે જાય ને ત્યાંથી બેયને સાથે લઈને એ નિશાળ પહોંચે. જેના લીધે ધીમે ધીમે બાળકોનો ભય ભાંગ્યો.

KRSF ગામોમાં રહેતા શિક્ષીત બેરોજગારની શિક્ષક તરીકે પસંદ કરે અને જે તે સરકારી શાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ હોય ત્યાં એમને મુકે. હાલમાં 650 થી વધારે શિક્ષકો અમે વિવિધ સરકારી શાળાઓમાં મુક્યા છે. જે 50,000 થી વધારે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ભણાવી રહ્યા છે. અમે શિક્ષક તરીકે જેમને પસંદ કરીએ તે શિક્ષકોને અમે પ્રથમ તાલીમ આપીયે જેમાં બાળ કેળવણીની અગત્યતા અંગે વધારે વાત કરીએ. અમારી આ તાલીમમાંથી શિક્ષકો પોતાની કર્તવ્ય નિષ્ઠા સમજે અને પોતાની શાળામાં બાળકોના ઘડતરમાં મહત્વની ભૂમિકા ભજવે.

ભાવનાબહેને પણ પોતાના વર્ગમાં ભણવામાં જરા નબળા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને જોયા. આ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ભણતરમાં વધારે રસ કેળવે એ માટે એમણે એક પ્રયોગ કર્યો. વર્ગમાં જે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ હોંશિયાર હતા તેમની બાજુમાં એમણે આ નબળા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને બેસાડવાનું શરુ કર્યું જેના લીધે નબળા વિદ્યાર્થીઓના પરિણામમાં ફેર પડવા માંડ્યો.

જે બાળકો ગુમસુમ રહેતા, ભણવામાં નબળા હતા તેમને શાળાામાં આવવું બહુ ગમતું નહીં પણ ભાવના બહેનના પ્રયાસોથી આજે આ બાળકોને શાળા ગમવા માંડી. વાત નાની હતી પણ એના ઉપર ધ્યાન આપ્યું તો કેવું સરસ કામ થયું. ઘોઘાસમડીની પ્રાથમિકશાળાના અન્ય શિક્ષકો અને આચાર્ય પણ ઉત્સાહી. બાળકોના બહેત્તર ભવિષ્ય માટે તેઓ પણ એટલા જ સક્રિય. સંસ્થા અને સરકારના પ્રયત્નથી ઘોઘાસમડીની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં ઉત્તમ કાર્ય થઈ રહ્યું છે. અમારી સંસ્થાના સ્થાપક પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફની ભાવના દસ લાખથી વધુ બાળકોને ઉત્તમ શિક્ષણ આપવામાં નિમિત્ત બનવાની છે.. તેમની આ ભાવના ફળે તે માટે KRSF ની સમગ્ર ટીમ કટીબદ્ધ છે..

What do we do if the child misbehaves a lot? We normally try to explain. Usually result is punishment, knowingly or unknowingly, if he does not understand even with that effort. But our teacher Sonalben used different tact to rescue Sumeet and Naitik, studying in her class, from their misadventures.

There was a shortage of teachers in primary school in Kunbargam of Narmada district. KRSF placed Sonalben as a supplementary teacher to fill that gap. Sonalben was also provided our training in child rearing. Naitik and Sumeet were in Sonalben’s class. Of course, both come to school but both would leave school, leaving their bags behind, with the excuse of going to washroom. They would go to the river and take a long time taking bath there. Their mischief in the class is also of different type. The whole class would get annoyed by it. They seemed to come to school only for disturbance. Parents of both also know their misbehavior. They assumed that their children would not go further in studies.

Sonalben properly interpreted mischiefs of both of them and made various efforts to normalize their behavior and regularize their presence in the school. Instead of rebuking them, she took a different path and participated herself in their disturbance. Sonalben loved them as her own kids. She, very calmly and lovingly, explained the harm caused by this fracas. They slowly and gradually calmed down and ultimately, they started to attend school regularly.

The parents could not believe their eyes when they saw this surprised change. However, their hearts felt coolness. No child will think of leaving school if there are teachers like Sonalben in every school. We are proud to have teachers like Sonalben…

Sumeet and Naitik

અમારા શિક્ષકો તોફાની બાળકોને કોઈ પણ સજા આપ્યા વિના નિયમિત શાળાએ આવતા કરીદે બાળક બહુ તોફાન કરે તો આપણે શું કરીએ? સમજાવવા પ્રયત્ન કરીએ.. પણ એ પ્રયત્નથી પણ ન સમજે તો?  સામાન્ય રીતે સજા કરવાનું જાણે અજાણે થઈ જ જાય..પણ અમારા શિક્ષીકા સોનલબહેને એમના વર્ગમાં ભણતા સુમીત અને નૈતિકને તેમના તોફાનમાંથી ઉગારવા જુદી રીતો પસંદ કરી.

નર્મદા જિલ્લાના કુનબરગામમાં પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ. KRSF એ સોનલબહેનને એ ઘટપૂર્તી માટે પૂરક શિક્ષક તરીકે મૂક્યા. બાળ ઘડતરની અમારી તાલીમ પણ સોનલબહેનને મળી. નૈતિક અને સુમીત સોનલબહેનના વર્ગમાં. બેય બાળકો નિશાળમાં આવે ખરા. પણ એકી પાણી માટે જવું છે એવું કહીને દફતર વર્ગમાં મુકી પહોંચી જાય નદીએ ને ત્યાં ભરપૂર નહાય. વર્ગમાં પણ એમની મસ્તી જુદા પ્રકારની. આખો વર્ગ એનાથી હેરાન થાય. નિશાળમાં માત્ર તોફાન માટે આવતા હોય એવું લાગે. બેયના આ તોફાન મા-બાપ પણ જાણે. એમને પોતાના બાળકો બહુ નહીં ભણે એવું લાગતું.

સોનલબહેને બેયના તોફાનને સમજ્યા ને એ તોફાનને હળવા કરવા, શાળામાં તેમને નિયમીત કરવા એમણે જુદા પ્રયત્નો આદર્યા. તોફાન સામે ઠપકો આપવાની જગ્યાએ એમની મસ્તીમાં એ પોતે પણ જુદી રીતે ભાગીદાર થયા. ને પછી પ્રેમથી આ મસ્તીથી શું નુકશાન થયું એ સમજાવ્યું. જેના લીધે ધીમે ધીમે આ બેય બાળકો શાંત થવા માંડ્યા. ઉપરાંત સોનલબહેન આ બેયને વહાલ પણ ઘણું કરે.. જેના લીધે બેઉ શાળામાં નિયમીત થયા. 

મા-બાપની તો આ પરિવર્તન જોઈ આંખો પહોંળી થઈ ગઈ. જો કે એમના જીવને હવે ટાઢક પણ પહોંચી. સોનલબહેન જેવા શિક્ષકો દરેક શાળામાં હોય તો એક પણ બાળક શાળા છોડીને જવાનું વિચારી નહીં એ નક્કી.. અમારી પાસે સોનલબહેન જેવા શિક્ષક હોવું ગૌરવ… 

‘What exactly is life class?’

‘Anilbhai runs such a class in place of teaching weak students in our school!’

‘Have you ever attended that class?’

‘No, but the children have a lot of fun.’

In the primary school of Motaa Dodisaragam in Sabarkantha, this was a constant murmuring among the teachers.

The questioner, Jasoraben, wanted to know what Anilbhai exactly did teach in the life class and so she hurried to Anilbhai’s life class. Normally a classroom accommodates twenty students. But whenever there is a life class, the classroom was always overflowed by most of the school children, pushing each other in limited space. Jasoraben also attended. She saw Anilbhai teaching how to develop self- confidence in children, regularity, discipline, etc. In short, Anilbhai taught how to build a useful life.

Students, who did not normally speak much in school, spoke a lot in this class. Jasoraben also got interested in this class. She also started attending this class every week regularly and started teaching the things taught in the life class to the children in her classroom. This started to show a reformation in her students.

KRSF appointed Anilbhai as a teacher to fill the shortage of teachers in Motaa Dodisara. He became the favorite of children as well as other school staff too. Recently the students of this school came first in district level kabaddi competition. They were successful because they learned the spirit of teamwork in the life class.The aim of KRSF is not only to educate the children but also to make them good and responsible citizens of the country. More than 650 teachers of the Foundation who teach children in government schools are given special training in life classes so that these children can be nourished with cultural values. Pratulbhai, the founder of KRSF, also visited Motaa Dodisara primary school. It is natural to feel happy seeing this type of school. We wish everyone a happy and glorious life!!!!!

લાઈફ ક્લાસ એ વળી શું?’

‘આપણી નિશાળમાં નબળા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ભણાવવાનું કરતા અનીલભાઈ આવો વર્ગ ચલાવે છે!’

‘તમે કોઈ દિવસ એ વર્ગમાં બેઠા છો?’

‘ના પણ બાળકોને બહુ મજા પડે છે.’

સાબરકાંઠાના મોટી ડોડીસરાગામની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં શિક્ષકો વચ્ચે આ ગણગણ થાય.

સવાલ પુછનાર જાસોરાબેનને લાઈફ ક્લાસમાં અનીલભાઈ એવું શું કરાવે તે જાણવાની તાલાવેલી થઈ ને એ પહોંચ્યા અનીલભાઈના વર્ગમાં. આમ તો આ વર્ગમાં વીસ વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ બેસવાનું હોય પણ શાળાના મોટાભાગના બાળકો લાઈફ ક્લાસ હોય ત્યારે સાંકડ મુકડ કરી એક વર્ગમાં બેસી જાય. જાસોરાબેન પણ બેઠા.. એમણે ક્લાસમાં બાળકોમાં આત્મવિશ્વાસ કેવી રીતે ખીલે, નિયમીતતા, શિસ્ત ટૂંકમાં જીવન ઘડતરની વાતો અનીલભાઈ શીખવતા હોવાનું જોયું. જે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સામાન્ય રીતે શાળામાં ઝાઝુ બોલતા ન હોય એ આ વર્ગમાં ઘણું બોલે..

જાસોરાબેનને પણ આ વર્ગમાં રસ પડ્યો. એ પણ દર અઠવાડિયે લેવાતા આ વર્ગમાં અચુક હાજર રહેવા માંડ્યા ને પોતાના વર્ગખંડમાં બાળકોને લાઈફ ક્લાસમાં ભણવવામાં આવતી વાતો શીખવવા માંડ્યા. જેનાથી વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં બદલાવ આવવા માંડ્યો.

KRSF એ મોટા ડોડીસરામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટની પૂર્તી માટે અનીલભાઈને શિક્ષક તરીકે મુકેલા. જે બાળકોના અને શાળાના અન્ય સ્ટાફના પણ પ્રિય થઈ ગયા. હમણાં આ શાળાના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ જિલ્લા કક્ષાની કબડ્ડી સ્પર્ધામાં પ્રથમ આવ્યા. ટીમવર્કની ભાવના તેઓ લાઈફ ક્લાસમાં બરાબર શીખ્યા હતા માટે એ સફળ થયા. KRSF નું લક્ષ બાળકોને માત્ર ભણાવવાનું જ નહીં પણ એ દેશના ઉત્તમ તેમજ જવાબદાર નાગરિક બને તેવું માટે ફાઉન્ડેશનના 650 થી વધારે શિક્ષકો જે સરકારી શાળામાં બાળકોને ભણાવે તેમને લાઈફ ક્લાસની ખાસ તાલીમ આપવામાં આવે જેથી એ બાળકોમાં સંસ્કાર સિંચનનું કામ પણ કરી શકે.

Why is a school age little girl doing housework instead of being in school?

This question sprang to mind of our teacher Hinaben, working as a supplementary teacher in a primary school in Sunderpura village, Sabarkantha.

Ashika studying in primary school is a smart student. An examination is conducted by KRSF every year and the children who pass this exam, are given a monthly scholarship by way of necessities of life. This encourages the child and his/her parent to educate the child. Ashika passed the exam and she was rewarded a scholarship every month. Hinaben went to Ashika’s house to deliver scholarship stuff and saw Ashika’s elder sister Saroj. In response to why she did not go to school, Saroj replied that she did not like the hostel. Hinaben asked her parents to let her study in the village school instead if she didn’t like the hostel. But Saroj as well as parents were not particularly that much prepared. But with the constant persuasion by Hinaben and our team leader Rohitbhai, Saroj ultimately started going to school.

There are countless children like Saroj around us who dropped out of school for one or another reason. Not a single child will be deprived of education if enough attention is given to such children. Our motto ”child first with holistic development of the village” is known to our teachers. Hinaben paid special attention to Saroj and saw that she keeps going to school. Hinaben mainly teaches mathematics in primary school. She also train students who are weak in reading and writing. She calls the students to school at 9.30 am and prepare them to pass exams to get various government scholarships. School Principal Popatbhai and other teachers, Vinitaben and Vinaben, are also very happy with Hinaben’s method. They say,” Our children have new enthusiasm after Hinaben’s arrival.

Especially the children have started preparing for competitive exams since childhood”. KRSF founder Pratulbhai specially went to this school in Sunderpura. He applauded the work of Hinaben and other teachers of the school.

શાળા છોડી દેવાથી હવે શાળાએ જવાનું શરૂ કર્યું : શિક્ષકનું ધ્યાન બાળકનું ભવિષ્ય અને બાળપણ બચાવે

નિશાળે જઈ શકે તે ઉંમરની દીકરી નિશાળમાં હોવાની જગ્યાએ ઘરકામ કેમ કરી રહી છે?

આ સવાલ સાબરકાંઠાના સુંદરપુરાગામની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં પૂરક શિક્ષક તરીકે કાર્ય કરતા અમારા શિક્ષક હિનાબહેનને થયો.

પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં ભણતી આશિકા ભણવામાં હોંશિયાર. KRSF દ્વારા દર વર્ષે એક પરિક્ષા લેવામાં આવે જેમાં પાસ થનાર બાળકોને માસીક સ્કોલરશીપ એટલે કે જીવન જરૃરી ચીજો આપવામાં આવે.  આનાથી બાળક અને બાળકના વાલીને બાળકને ભણાવવા પ્રોત્સાહન મળે. આશિકાએ પરિક્ષા પાસ કરી એને દર મહિને સ્કોલરશીપ પેટે વસ્તુ મળે જે આપવા હીનાબહેન આશિકાના ઘરે ગયા ને આશિકાની મોટી બહેન સરોજને એમણે જોઈ.

નિશાળ કેમ નથી ગઈના જવાબમાં હોસ્ટેલ નથી ગમતીનું દીકરીએ કહ્યું. નામ એનું સરોજ. હીનાબહેને એના માતા-પિતાને હોસ્ટેલમાં ન ગમે તો ગામની નિશાળામાં ભણવા મુકવા કહ્યું. પણ સરોજની સાથે સાથે માતાપિતા પણ ખાસ તૈયાર નહીં. પણ હિનાબહેન અને અમારા ટીમલીડર રોહીતભાઈની સતત સમજાવટથી આખરે સરોજ નિશાળમાં જતી થઈ ગઈ.

આપણી આસપાસ સરોજ જેવા અસંખ્ય બાળકો હશે જેઓએ કોઈક કારણ સર શાળા છોડી દીધી છે. આવા બાળકો પ્રત્યે ધ્યાન આપવામાં આવે તો એક પણ બાળક શિક્ષણથી વંચિત ન રહે. અમારુ સૂત્ર બાળક પ્રથમ અને ગામનો સર્વાગીણ વિકાસ. અમારા શિક્ષકો જાણે માટે હિનાબહેને સરોજ પ્રત્યે વિશેષ ધ્યાન આપ્યું ને એને શાળાએ જતી કરી.

પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં હીનાબહેન મુખ્યત્વે ગણિત ભણાવે સાથે  વાંચન લેખનમાં નબળા વિદ્યાર્થીને પણ ભણાવે. તેઓ સરકારીની વિવિધ સ્કોલરશીપ બાળકોને મળે તે માટે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને સવારે 9.30ના શાળામાં બોલાવે ને તૈયારી કરાવે.

શાળાના આચાર્ય પોપટભાઈ તેમજ અન્ય શિક્ષિકા બહેનો વિનીતાબહેન અને વીણાબહેન પણ હીનાબહેનની કાર્યપદ્ધતિથી ખુબ રાજી… એ કહે, ‘હિનાબહેન આવવાથી અમારા બાળકોમાં નવો ઉત્સાહ છે ખાસ તો સ્પર્ધાત્મક પરીક્ષાઓની તૈયારીઓ બાળકો નાનપણથી કરતા થયા છે..’

સુંદરપુરાની આ શાળામાં KRSF ના સ્થાપક પ્રતુલભાઈ ખાસ ગયા. હીનાબહેનના અને શાળાના અન્ય શિક્ષકોના કામને એમણે બિરદાવ્યું. 

”I met Sandhya for the first time when she was in class 6. She was good at English and maths but she was scared of science subject. When I sat with her to understand why it is so, she said, ”I don’t understand science at all!” Sandhya was not an ordinary student. She is brilliant. However, she did not like science and so, she used to drop that subject. I thought that was not right.

“Teachers are specially trained in our foundation to teach difficult subjects easily. I used what I learned in this training to teach Sandhya science with childlike ease. And Sandhya, with her devotion, became quite proficient with science within two years. She is currently in class 12 and dreams of becoming a doctor. I am constantly with her to solve her every puzzle in her education” said Rubinaben. Her father is a vegetables hawker. Witnessing her father’s difficulties, Sandhya repeats every day, ‘I want to become a doctor and free my father from pulling lorry to sell vegetables.’ As also, every daughter is very concerned about her father. The financial condition of the family is also weak. Our foundation train us to hold hands of such students till the end. I just implemented what I learned from foundation and Sandhya now is in class 12.” Rubinaben, who has been working at D K School in Ahmedabad since last 7 years, told us this with pride while talking about Sandhya.

Each of our teachers are determined to do something concrete in the lives of children. We went to Sandhya’s house. His father thanked us. He said, ”Sandhya wants to become a doctor, but I don’t understand how that can be possible. We, ourselves do not understand this type of education system. But Rubinaben explains everything to her and with support she in now in class 12.”

When you hear this, you feel satisfied. More than 650 teachers of Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation teach in various government and institute-run schools where there is shortage of teachers. We provide continuous training to these teachers on how to mold children.

Acharya Chanakya’s phrase ”Destruction and Creation, both are fostered in teacher’s lap.” We try to drill this value in our teachers minds. Foundation’s goal is ”CREATION” and we strive to make teachers determined to achieve it. When we met Sandhya with Rubinaben, we felt that what we sowed has blossomed…

શિક્ષકો સરળતાથી વિદ્યાર્થીની નબળાઈ શોધે અને તરત જ તેના પર કામ કરવાનું શરૂ કરે 

‘સંધ્યાને હું પહેલીવાર ધો.6માં એ ભણતી ત્યારે મળી. અંગ્રેજી અને ગણીત એનું સારુ પણ વિજ્ઞાનથી એ દુર ભાગે. આવું કેમ? એ સમજવા જ્યારે એની સાથે બેસી ત્યારે એણે કહ્યું, વિજ્ઞાનમાં મને ટપ્પો નથી પડતો.. સંધ્યા સામાન્ય વિદ્યાર્થી નહોતી. એ હોંશિયાર હતી. એને વિજ્ઞાન નથી ગમતું એટલે એ વિષય છોડી દેવાનું એ કરતી જે મને યોગ્ય ન લાગ્યું. બાળકોને અઘરા લાગતા વિષયો સરળ રીતે શીખવવા અમારા ફાઉન્ડેશનમાં તાલીમ આપવામાં આવે. આ તાલીમમાં હું જે શીખી તેનો ઉપયોગ મે સંધ્યાને સરળતાથી વિજ્ઞાન શીખવવા કર્યો. અને સંધ્યાનું વિજ્ઞાન બે વર્ષમાં એકદમ સરસ થઈ ગયું.

હાલ એ ધો.12માં છે અને ડોક્ટર બનવાનું સ્વપ્ન સેવે છે. હું ભણતરને લગતી એની દરેક મૂંઝવણમાં સાથે છું. એના પપ્પા શાકભાજી વેચે છે. પિતાની તકલીફ સંધ્યા જુએ એટલે દરરોજ મારે ડોક્ટર થઈને મારા પપ્પાને આ લારી લઈને શાકભાજી વેચવામાંથી મુક્તિ અપાવવી છે એવું કહે. દીકરીઓને આમ પણ પિતાની ચિંતા વધુ હોય. પરિવારની આર્થિક હાલત પણ નબળી. અમને ફાઉન્ડેશનમાંથી આવા વિદ્યાર્થીઓની આંગળી છેક સુધી પકડી રાખવાનું શીખવવામાં આવે. બસ જે શીખી એ અમલમાં મુક્યું ને સંધ્યા 12માં આવી ગઈ.’

અમદાવાદમાં ડી કે બીન શાળામાં 7 વર્ષથી ફરજ બજાવતા રૃબીનાબહેને ગૌરવ સાથે સંધ્યાની વાત કરતા અમને આ જણાવ્યું.

અમારા દરેક શિક્ષક બાળકોના જીવનમાં નક્કર કશુંક કરવાના સંકલ્પ સાથે કામ કરે. સંધ્યાના ઘરે અમે ગયા. એના પપ્પાએ અમારો આભાર માન્યો. એમણે કહ્યું, ‘સંધ્યા ડોક્ટર બનવાનું કહે પણ એ કેમ બનાય મને કશું સમજાય નહીં. પણ આ રૃબીનાબહેન એને બધુ સમજાવે. અમને તો આ ભણતરમાં ઝાઝી ખબર ના પડે. પણ તમે સાથે રહ્યા ને સંધ્યા બારમાં સુધી પહોંચી ગઈ.’

આવું સાંભળીયે ત્યારે સંતોષ થાય. ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનના 650 થી વધારે શિક્ષકો વિવિધ સરકારી અને સંસ્થા સંચાલિત નિશાળમાં જ્યાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ હોય ત્યાં ભણાવે. આ શિક્ષકોને અમે બાળકોનું ઘડતર કેવી રીતે કરવું તેની સતત તાલીમ આપીયે.

આચાર્ય ચાણક્યનું વાક્ય ”પ્રલય ઔર નિર્માણ શિક્ષક કી ગોદમે પલતા હૈ..” આ વાત અમારા શિક્ષકોને અમે બરાબર સમજાવીયે અને ફાઉન્ડેશનનું લક્ષ્ય ”સર્જન” અને એમાં શિક્ષકો કટીબદ્ધ થાય તે માટે મથીયે.
