”Please ask Veena to make the sound of a cuckoo. She replicates cuckoo’s sounds very nicely!” said a
teacher who was sitting next to where we were sitting in high school in Shangaam, Meghraj. And we asked Veena to make a cuckoo sound.
Veena cannot see outside world, she is not gifted with eyesight. God took away sight from her eyes, but replaced it with beautiful lyrical voice. She sings songs with beautiful lyrical sound. She is Kokeel Kanthi; means her voice was just like a cuckoo. Veena listens to songs, try to remember them and then sings. The financial condition of the house is very poor. So, how can family spend money to teach her singing?
There was shortage of teachers in Shangaam primary school. KRSF appointed Vinodbhai as a teacher.
That time, Veena was in 6th grade. School principal Vitthalbhai, Vinodbhai and other teachers witnessed her singing. Everyone used to encourage Veena. She also participated in local level competition which enhanced her confidence.
Veena has Vinodbhai’s support
Veena is now in St. 9 in high school. Our Vinodbhai still looks after her. High school principal Ranjit Singh Parmar also encourages Veena. Because of this support, Veena recently participated in a music competition held in Mumbai. She wants to become a singer when she grows up. The teachers of the school got together and presented her with instruments such as harmonium, speaker, etc. so that she could do Riyaz/practice singing. Talent is hidden in every child. Properly encouraged, open sky is the limit for this type of talent. We wish this happens in every school like it happened in Shangaam Vidyamandir..
ભગવાન વ્યક્તિ પાસેથી એક વસ્તુ લે પરંતુ વીણાના કેસ તરીકે કંઈક વિશેષ પણ આપે.
કોયલનો અવાજ કાઢવાનું ક્યો વીણા એ અવાજ સરસ કાઢે.. મેઘરજની શણગામની હાઈસ્કૂલમાં અમે જ્યાં બેઠા હતા તેની બાજુમાં બેઠેલા એક બહેને કહ્યું. ને અમે વીણાને કોયલનો અવાજ કાઢવા કહ્યું.
વીણા આ દુનિયાને જોઈ નથી શકતી એની આંખના દિવા ઓલવાયેલા પણ ઈશ્વરે આંખના દિવા ઓલવી બાકી બારે કોઢે દિવા કર્યા હોય એવો એનો સુંદર અવાજ. એ સુંદર ગીતો ગાય. કોકીલ કંઠી એટલે કોયલનો અવાજ તો કાઢી જ શકે..
વીણા ગીતો સાંભળી એને ગોખે અને પછી ગાય. ઘરની આર્થિક સ્થિતિ એકદમ નબળી. આવામાં એની ગાયકી પાછળ તો પૈસા ખર્ચવાનું તો કેવી રીતે થાય?
શણગાલની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ. KRSF એ વિનોદભાઈને શિક્ષક તરીકે મુક્યા. એ વખતે વીણા ધો.6માં ભણે. વીણાની ગાયકી શાળાના આચાર્ય વિઠ્ઠલભાઈ, અમારા વિનોદભાઈ અને અન્ય શિક્ષકો જુએ. સૌએ વીણાને પ્રોત્સાહન આપ્યું. સ્થાનીક સ્તરે થતી સ્પર્ધામાં એને ભાગ લેવડાવ્યો. જેનાથી વીણામાં આત્મવિશ્વાસ વધ્યો.
વીણા હવે ધો.9માં આવી. એ હાઈસ્કૂલમાં આવી ગઈ ત્યાં પણ અમારા વિનોદભાઈ એનું ધ્યાન રાખે.
હાઈસ્કૂલના આચાર્ય રણજીતસિંહ પરમાર પણ વીણાને પ્રોત્સાહીત કરે. વીણાને પીઠબળ મળતા એણે હમણાં મુંબઈમાં આયોજીત સંગીત સ્પર્ધામાં ભાગ લીધો.
એ મોટી થઈને ગાયક કલાકાર બનવા માંગે છે. શાળાના શિક્ષકોએ ભેગા મળીને એને હાર્મોનીયમ, સ્પીકર વગેરે સાધનો લઈ આપ્યા જેથી એ રીયાઝ કરી શકે.
દરેક બાળકમાં પ્રતિભા છુપાયેલી છે. એ પ્રતિભાને જાણીને તેને આકાશ આપવાનું શણગાલના વિદ્યામંદિરમાં થયું એવું દરેક શાળામાં થાય તેમ ઈચ્છીયે..
